Hello everyone,
I have taken the valve cover off my Savage on several occaisions to sort out the oil leak.
First time I put new sealant around the head seal cap. No difference.
Next time I bought a new head seal cap. No difference. The bike still leaked oil which blew back onto the battery box on the right hand side of the bike.
So I took the valve cover off again and put LOTS of silicon around the head seal cap.
AND THE BIKE STILL LEAKED OIL !
When looking at the parts diagram at the Suzuki shop, I noticed that the washers under the nuts that hold down the head are called gaskets. So I bought four. I coated the gaskets (washers) lightly with silicon sealant then torqued down the head and reassembled the bike.

NO MORE OIL LEAK (at least for the last 200 miles).

I am so happy, I wanted you all to know.

Happy Savage riding, even the ones with leaky heads!
